Campground Volunteer

Sign Up to volunteer in Campgrounds during the 40th Annual Wheatland Music Festival begins Monday, April 29th, 9 AM.  No shifts will be assigned prior to that.

As Wheatland Ambassadors you assure the safety and well being of our fellow festival goers.  Specific jobs in this area depend largely on the time and the day you sign up for.  For example, Friday morning and afternoon involves parking campers (no blocked fire lanes, tongues and noses out and squeeze please).  If you work during this time you should be able to be assertive, but diplomatic.  Friday and Saturday night shifts involve patrolling the campgrounds in pairs, helping campers when necessary and watching for and reporting potential problems to the crew leader.  Daytime shifts on Saturday and Sunday involve giving assistance and general trouble shooting.  All shifts entail a lot of walking so please dress accordingly.  Volunteers will work a total of 8 hours over the weekend, usually two (2) four hour shifts.  PLEASE NOTE:  You must be at least 16 to work campgrounds.

Campgrounds Crew Leaders will have the following responsibilities:  To meet with the Shift Coordinator at the sign-in tent ½ hour prior to your shift for briefing.  At your assigned station you must sign in workers as well as direct them to patrol areas and what to watch for.  You will be responsible for recording the significant events that happened in your area, you must have worked at least one or more festival sin campgrounds and attend at least one of the WMO volunteer orientation sessions being held this summer.  PLEASE NOTE:  You must be at least 18 to be a crew leader.

To find out what shifts are available you can call the office at 989-967-8879 between 9am and 3pm, Monday-Friday.
