The Avi Lesser Jug Band

FRIDAY
Centennial Stage
6:00-7:00pm

The Avi Lesser Jug Band has performed together for over 10 years, and we are so excited to now be performing at our favorite place, Wheatland! We are a band of families that have come together through the love and magic of music, joined as one by our front man, Avi Lesser.

Avi was born with Williams Syndrome, a genetic condition which is characterized by medical problems and learning challenges, but with an affinity for music. A group of Music Therapists, from Michigan to New York, all met and came to love each other at the Williams Syndrome Association Music and Enrichment Camp in Michigan, and there Avi joined our lives.

Part of the magic that is Avi, is his ability to connect with music on a deeper level than many typically functioning people. Often when we are jamming together, Avi is able to create monster mash-ups of songs crossing and combining genres, styles, cultures and languages, leaving all musicians with a sense of awesome wonder at how he is able to make such perfect musical connections.

Avi loves and knows music from all over the world, enjoys making music with people of all ages, abilities, colors and styles and has performed at the Grand Ole Opry and as the opening act for Foreigner and The Temptations. We invite you to open your mind, your heart and your soul to the wonderful world of music with The Avi Lesser Jug Band!
