Kait Rose and the Thorns

Kait (kaitrosemusic.com) has been playing guitar and writing songs since the summer of 2001 after finding her mom's Alvarez in the hallway closet. By the end of the day, she taught herself the theme song to The Godfather, which made her Italian grandmother very proud.

To date, Kait has recorded seven full length solo albums in various basements and attics of friends and family members from Indianapolis to Seattle, Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids.

As another Rose once sang, “Every rose has its thorn.” Kait has 6 Thorns: Aaron Stinson (saxophone, flute, harmonica, percussion), Bob Wallis (keys, vocals), Traci Seuss (backing vocals, acoustic guitar), Greg Orr (bass), Jim Beebe (electric guitar), Jeff Moehle (drums), and Andy Szmowski (pedal steel).

Fellow singer/songwriter Fiona Dickinson had this to say about Kait’s musical and vocal stylings:

“With a seasoned finger-picking style in the time-honored tradition and a husky honey voice that balances between a sultry coo and a fiery wail, Kaitlin Rose is a treasure among the American Folk Greats.”
