January Wheatscouts 1/11/14 11-1, sledding afterward, Jamboree after that. We’ll be celebrating light by doing hands-on activities through various international cultural celebrations of light with the Mt Pleasant Discovery Museum, learn and execute a Native American sunrise chant in a blend of both Cree and Ojibwa language, and then make hand-made all-natural lipbalms for our tired skin!
We’ll follow Wheatscouts with sledding near the Wernette Woods. For those interested, folks usually park out on the road and then leave from there, or some walk through the woods and then return to go to the Jamboree in the Cabin. It’s up to you.
Things we could use: old coffee cups to be donated for the coffee/hot chocolate crowd that will be left in the cupboard (rather than using paper cups) AND if you’re up for making/bringing healthy foods, we have a hungry crowd. We have food, but the more, the merrier!
Come, celebrate the traditional arts with Wheatscouts in 2014!
Wheatscouts is a family gathering where children and parents sing, play music, dance, make crafts, listen to stories, and enjoy each other and nature – its free and open to the public! Located at the Gladys Wernette Classroom Building on the Wheatland Music Organization grounds.
