Saturday, May 14: Instrument Petting Zoo with Budd Greenman, Bruce Bauman & Friends
What a great year this has been for Wheatscouts! Puppets, storytellers, and so much music and dancing!
For our next Wheatscouts Budd Greenman and Bruce Bauman will be putting on an Instrument Petting Zoo of sorts. There will be some introduction to various instruments as well as demonstration. Then the kids will have an opportunity to touch and even play, with assistance, some of the instruments used during the demonstration. What a way to get ready for Traditional Arts Weekend!!
If you have a favorite instrument, bring it and show us.
There will also be some crafting available…for anyone interested. And if the weather is nice, maybe some play time as well!!
This children’s program was started at Wheatland in 1987 with the purpose of educating children through music, dance, storytelling, crafts and nature while promoting family tradition and fellowship. Wheatscouts also gives the adults a chance to bond with other grown-ups while turning the little ones loose for a couple of hours.
Wheatscouts meet during the months from October – May, and are scheduled for the 2nd Saturday of each month from 11am till 1pm in the Gladys Wernette building on the Wheatland Music site. Each season kicks off with a Wheatscouts Fall Family Campout, held on site at Wheatland.
Wheatscouts is offered free of charge, is open to the public and a small healthy snack will be provided. (Feel free to bring a snack to share as well) Each gathering is uniquely themed, so stay tuned to both the Wheatland website and Wheatscouts Facebook Group for up-to-date information.
