Wally and Rachel Ewing will be providing Ole’ Time arts, crafts, and interactive music activities using things found in nature and about nature. The Ewing’s are educators and long-time members of Wheatland. They have enjoyed providing many youth workshops at Wheatland over the years. Their October Wheatscouts program will feature nature sits and journal sketches; an interactive nature hike; nature games; artwork using leaves and natural materials; making, decorating, and playing wooden musical spoons; dancing wooden jig dolls to live music, and, participating in action songs. Parents are encouraged to participate directly with their youngsters.
Families should bring a sack lunch and drink. Water and snacks will be provided during the program, to include some drinks made from Michigan trees and wildflowers.
NOTE: This WheatScouts event will be HELD OUTDOORS, please dress appropriately for changeable autumn weather. If moved indoors masks will be provided and social distancing will be required.
Participating children will be able to take home their artwork, nature crafts, wooden spoons, and great memories of how fun nature can be.

11:15 – 12:30 — Interactive Nature Hike, Nature Arts and Crafts, Music
12:30 – 1:00 — Lunch and Nature Drinks
1:00 – 2:00 — Nature Games and Music
2:00 – 2:30 — Extra Time to Complete Activities or Playtime at Kids Hill
