The 26th Annual Night of Louisiana will take place Saturday, January 28th, 2017 at 7:00pm (doors open at 6:30) at Central Michigan University’s John G. Kulhalvi Events Center.

The 26th annual “Night of Louisiana” brings people of several generations to the CMU campus in the middle of winter to dance to the sounds of Cajun and zydeco music. The bands represent Cajun and Creole French culture from Louisiana and it has found a home at CMU each January since 1992. Attendees wear their Mardi Gras beads and colorful clothes and dance the night away.

Over the last 25 years the bands have included Grammy winners and National Heritage Award recipients who have performed all over North America and Europe. Along with the music, participants can sample Cajun and Creole cuisine. Attendees come from all over Michigan and even a few Louisiana natives who miss their culture from back home. Veteran attendees mark this on their calendar each year and it is a highlight of the season.  – Robert Barclay
