Festival DOs and DON'TS

DO:

  • Remember that anyone under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over age 21.
  • Wear your wrist ticket as you enter the Main Gate area, it may speed up your entry to the Festival. Wear your wrist ticket on your wrist. People without wrist tickets may be ejected from the Festival.
  • Be prepared to follow our alcohol policy. Minors seen in the possession or under the influence of alcohol or other drugs will be referred to the Sheriff's deputies. Adults causing problems will be referred to WMO staff. Problem behaviors may result in expulsion from the Festival.
  • Be conscious of and do not block fire lanes.
  • Park all campers and motor homes with either tongue or nose facing toward the road/lane for quickest exit in the unlikely event of an evacuation.
  • Stay within the farm boundaries.
  • Put name tags on children that include parent name(s) and any important medical information.
  • Use the free shuttle bus service instead of driving into Remus.
  • Sample the many food concessions. Water will be available on-site, also.
  • Participate in recycling: Wheatland plans to collect and recycle glass bottles and jars, aluminum and tin cans, and compostable material. Look for collection barrels around the site or stop by the Recycling Tent for more information.
  • Keep your drumming only in the area reserved near the Cabin for this popular new Festival activity.
  • Remember that Drumming hours are from 12 noon - 11 P.M.

    DON'T:

  • Park along the roads leading to the festival site until 9 A.M. on Friday, September 11th. The roads must be kept clear so that emergency vehicles, school busses, and our neighbors can get through. Violators will be ticketed and/or towed by the Mecosta County Sheriff Department.
  • Bring pets of any kind.
  • Bring skateboards, bikes (unless that's how you got here), scooters, and personal golf carts. If you need help getting around the festival site, ground transportation is available. Check at Information, the Main Gate or any Safety Station.
  • Bring valuable items. Wheatland cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items.
  • Use ropes or flags to reserve campsites.
  • Drive into or through the campgrounds after 9 P.M.
  • Use heat-producing devices in the Pines. This includes, but is not limited to: charcoal grills, Coleman lanterns, camp stoves, cigarettes, etc. Ground fires are not permitted anywhere on the festival site. Also, no firearms, fireworks or laser pointers.
  • Video tape or audio tape Festival performers. Rather, please visit the booth in the Information Building where their recordings and videos are for sale.
  • Sell unauthorized merchandise. You will be evicted from the festival, and your merchandise confiscated.
  • Leave alcoholic beverages or your coolers unattended.
  • Plan on staying Sunday night. The Festival closes at 9 P.M. Sunday, and everyone is expected to leave at that time.
  • Bring a generator. Generators are not allowed.
  • Bring marshmallow guns or any type of fake weapon onto the festival grounds. They will be confiscated.
