Festival Photo Contest

2009 Festival Photographs Wanted

While we continue to be awed by the photographic talents of Peggy Brisbane, whose photos you see each year in the festival program book, we realize that she can’t make it into the middle of every jam session or out to the far reaches of the campgrounds. Therefore, we are counting on using photographs taken by the rest of you Wheatland shutterbugs at past festivals in the pages of the spring newsletter.

Here’s what to do: select copies of your favorite black and white or high contrast color photos, indicate on the back of each photo (or attach a sticky note to the back) what is going on in the photo, when and where it was taken, and your name, address and phone number, and send them to FESTIVAL PHOTO CONTEST, c/o WMO, PO Box 22, Remus, MI 49340. Please send duplicates, as photos submitted will not be returned. Photos submitted must be received by April 1, 2010.

Please do not email us digital files. Print all digital pictures and send them to the address above. All of the photos we receive will be evaluated by a panel of judges (or the Wheatland Board of Directors), who will vote for their favorites. 

Prizes will be awarded as follows: 1st Place (2) tickets to the 2010 Wheatland Music Festival plus $25.00 in food coupons; 2nd Place (2) Festival Tickets; 3^rd Place (1) 2010 Festival Ticket plus T-Shirt, 4^th Place, (1) Festival Ticket and 5th Place 2010 Festival T-shirt plus $10.00 food coupons. Between three and five photos will be printed in the spring newsletter, with “photo credits” given to the winning photographers.

For future reference, note that we accept photo contest submissions year’round. If it’s easier for you to remember to send copies of your festival photos to us as soon as you get them developed., that would be fine. We’ll just hang onto them until we need them. We look forward to seeing your photos!  We also reserve the right to use the photos submitted to the photo contest for future use in our program book, newsletters and web site.
